Music this week Posted by FrederickNewspost.com
The Shindig Music Festival hits Baltimore this weekend with rock radio staples Godsmack and ‘90s alt giants Stone Temple Pilots — featuring Chester Bennington of Linkin Park on vocals — anchoring the daylong lineup in the city’s Pigtown district. The two-stage setup will provide no overlapping sets.
Tickets are $70 at the gate on Saturday, Sept. 19 at Carroll Park. Gates open at noon. Music begins at 1 p.m. Children under 12 are admitted free if accompanied by an adult.
Performers include Anthrax, Clutch, Chevelle, Helmet, Reverend Horton Heat, Nothing More and Crobot. Rounding out the talent is homegrown favorites Silvertung, Black Angel Down and More to Monroe.
Plus, there will be performances by shock-rock troupe Dingleberry Dynasty, plus sword swallowers, fire breathers, aerial acrobats, burlesque performances, tattoo contests and other visually captivating oddities.
Carroll Park is located 1.5 miles from Camden Yards, M&T Bank Stadium, I-95, and I-395 in the heart of historic Pigtown.
